Dutch issue post war Brodie helmet?

Picked up this GSW manufactured Brodie today. MkI, 1941 dated. Liner is dated 1951. I believe this was used after the war by the Dutch. I understand that GSW stands for General Steel Wares, a Canadianicon company. Would this helmet have been used by the Americans as well? Enjoy the pics..
