Here's a few pics of some Chinese surplus 5.56x45mm and 7.62x51mm to go with the pictures of the Chinese M43 I posted recently. The 5.56 and 7.62x51 appear to have been made in the same factory. The packing slip in the 5.56 crate poses an interesting question. Hope you enjoy the pics.

This 5.56 arrived yesterday. I was disappointed to find it not packed in spam cans, but the price was decent.

Crate, as received and open. 1600 rounds in 20 round boxes. Brass cased and Boxer primed. The markings visible are the only ones on the crate:

Packing slip inside the bag. I'm not sure if it means the ammo was repacked or if it sat unpacked for 9 years after manufacture. Or if the 95 is the lot number and it was manufactured in 2004.

Box and headstamp.

I received this 7.62 in a combo deal a few months ago, 1000 round crate of ammo and an 18.5" barreled M14icon for $800 shipped. Sold the rifle, and kept the ammo.

Crate, as received and opened. 1000 rounds in two spam cans. Copper-washed steel case and Berdan primed. I'm not sure about the bullet composition yet. The markings visible are the only ones on the crate:

Spam can with key:

Open, 4 paper packets of 125 rounds each:

Headstamp:

Here's the same stuff in different packaging. 20 round commercial-style boxes. The headstamp is the same with the date one year different from the spam-can ammo.
