Hi , I just got this rifle. I can't post pics, but this is the best I can do for description. Finish looks original blackened. Bolt head is Marked "U", bolt is matching to the rifle, P8451. Top of barrel is the "HV SC". Socket is GR ENFIELD 1916 Sht LE 111 (asterisk) Barrel is marked P8451 on side, under hand guard, it's got a '18 date (probably an inspection date). Rear sight leaf was numbered 3475, but was lined out, renumbered 4707, unfortunately not the rifles sn. Fore end cap is numbered P8451. Rear hand guard is marked with the post 1925 Efd D proof. It's been repaired with 2 thin Wooden slots. Front handguatd is marked with the ENFIELD post 1925 D symbol. No import markings, but it's got the "ENGLAND", and .303 2.22 and tons profs under the hand guard, plus cypher, and it's of course proofed over the serial number. ENGLAND is on the receiver ring, visible, under the sn. Rear of the socket near bolt opening is "MM MM". Stock behind trigger guard is marked "8". GR and crossed flags over P, and '18 on receiver barrel area, Notch repair in the stock, just forward of the bridge, marking disk is gone, not plugged, empty, no disc, or screw. Brass butt late, no visible sn in stock, sound like a rifle inspected for WW2 issue, but never rebated Ed?Information
