Today i saw a k98 with a cupped lamanated stock that had two differant sling mounts. The stock had the normal cut-out that the sling buckle/strap fits in/thru that all k98's have. In addition to this it had a recessed area with a metal strap/bar with two screws securing it to the left side of the buttstock. This 2nd sling attaching point is to the rear of the bolt takedown disk. It appears to be made this way and not an afterthought. Who made this. There where no carouches on the stock. Was this some other countries idea so the could use a cheaper sling? I did see a pic of a portuguese k98 on page 318 of BOTW that was simular. I didn't see anything just like this in BOTW which makes me think this might not have been a german idea. Any info would be nice. I am new to k98's and this made me curious.
