New guy M1 parts, accessories????

It's been some while since I've been in the market , hence my questions:
A friend is about to receive his first M (and an M1 Carbine).

(1) Who would y'all recommend for parts, springs, etc.

(2) Which combination tool to buy and where to buy it?

I figured y'all would know better than most anyone....
