This evening I went to my gun safe to clean an Enfield No 4 Mk 2 in preparation for a range trip. I purchased this rifle a number of years ago, but have never fired it.

The front sight guard, which is the stamped variety, was loose. A trip to the shop for a screw driver revealed that the screw is about 1/8" to short. It must have been like that when I purchased the rifle. Yes, I am sure it is short etc. The hole on the milled guard on my No 4 Mk1 appears to be deeper counter sunk, the screw I have may be for that.

Numerich does not list a different fronght sight base and guard screw for the Mk 2, and is out of the ones for the Mk 1. Sarco lists LE 4039 Foresight Protector screw for the Mk 1, but I would rather not deal with them. A Google search did not turn up other suppliers.

This all leads to a couple of questions:

1. Is there a good source, USAicon preferablly, for No 4 small parts I do not know?

2. Are there really two different length guard screws?
