While going through stuff to sell , I came across a set of grips that came on one of my .38 S/W Victories . I was told it was a pre-war set someone had put on the gun. I found a set of correct style grips and corrected the pistol. I was going to put these up for sale , but now I might not. Looking on the internet , I can't find any grips like this.
The late Victories are smooth no medalion.
The early Victories and pre-war are checered with medalion.
The turn of the century ones are like mine , but all I've found have much finer checkering and smaller diamonds.
The grips are marked 273XX , looks like 27342 , but not sure.
Did they mark the serial number on early production ? Or could this only be post "V" start ?
I kind of fancy a bored Tommy or GI with a sharp tool and some skill.
