No wanut over here they need water. White gum (wandoo),jarrah,karri, marri,tasmanian blue gum are the main hardwoods listed from hardest not the best construction or furniture types order. There are other hardwoods but getting timber in size or quanity is difficult at best. Though some are very pretty. Peter you are quite right it is only a few inches over to T Bones about an inch per hour in a large plane. The density and glue problem has had me thinking (dangerous that ). T Bones can you tell me if a serious of small holes ( Many) drilled into the hard wood solve the wood density glue issue. Think draws blocks, holes on inside side and bottom not rear.
