When I was in grammer school a long, long time ago, apparently in another galaxy, there would be a yearly school wide show and tell with each child bringing something to show. It is amazing how many WWII trophy firearms showed up including Mausers, Arisakas, P38s, P08s, and even a dewat Nambu machinegun. The school could have fit out a Germanicon company with weapons. They would be on display in the classroom and nobody thought anything was unusual. In high school every pickup truck, Jeep, and Powerwagon had a gun rack, usually with a shotgun or rifle during hunting season. I don't remember a single theft or threat or incident. It is a much different world today and I'm afraid we've lost something over the years.
