hen find a nice gun with a wear spot or two, I've played with many different techniques and found the best that works for me is as follows: Degrease the area to be worked on to the closest transition, i.e. step in barrel recieiver line, etc. Then wipe area with 0000 steel wool and bleach, then wipe with a damp rag. then heat the area to warm using a hair dryer. The apply B.C. super blue with a clean gun patch, do not re-use the gun patch used for bluing, use a clean patch for each swipe. When area is completely covered use 0000 steel wool and rub down the entire area well. once done cover the entire area with butchers wax and buff out.

This works well for spotting and is not for entire guns unless you want to prep all the surfaces, HTH-SDH
