I'm new to this forum just now, and there's a thread that covered this rifle once before, but it's old and I was asked not to resurrect it. I recently acquired a 1903 National Match serial number 1400918 barrel marked SA 7-31. I am hoping to get a copy of the SRS hit for this rifle to go with my records. I know from this thread:
SRS check please
that it was sold to Charles W. Newell from Elmira NY, a member of the NY Civilian team in 1936, but I would like documentation to back that up. I was able to acquire a copy of the team roster of Mr. Newell's team in 1936 that includes one William S. Brophy. A copy of that roster is currently stuck inside the front cover of a book by the same guy : )
This rifle is absolutely beautiful! I really appreciate any help I can get with this. I love having documentation to go with my firearms. Changes the story from wild speculation, to not quite as wild speculation. Hopefully someone can help! Thank you for your time!Information
