Milling marks on CMP Rock Island in Greek Black?

It was pointed out to me that these milling marks are highly unusual, and a point of concern. The receiver is a Rock Island 382XXX, re-barreled in '44 with a HS. Mark I stock.

    Thoughts from the Milsurp folks?

    Thank you!
