Group of Enfield Mk IV oilers

Any one have an idea why some oilers have dates stamped on them similar to what you see on ID disks? In my collection I have 5 that are dated. The seem to be pretty uncommon. The dated ones do seem to show up more on Canadianicon marked oilers.Attachment 55439Attachment 55440
