I was reading a thread in the Lee Enfield area (https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=50593) about 303 ammo which had some posts on after-shooting-corrosive-ammo bore cleaning. What do you do if you are in a range that might be a bit of a ways away from home? I ask because it seems the best way to clean up the barrel is hot water; don't think many ranges would let you loose on their bathroom with a rifle. And, in my case, they do frown upon you fondling the rifle away from firing line.

So, what could you do as an initial cleaning before you get home? I was thinking a bore snake since it would take seconds to run it and then thrown rifle in its case. A friend uses that as his only method to clean rifle barrels; I do not know if I would trust it that much.
