His Ryan Pt-22 lost power on take-off and he had to put it down on a golf course. He clipped the trees on the way in, probably taking out one of the main mounts. The port mount appears to be protruding through the top of the wing. All kinds of bad reportage ("...his WWII fighter") and opinionating ("Time to take the keys away from grandpa") but it looks to me to be excellent piloting under the conditions. In the middle of all the blather I saw a mostly intact prop blade and thought, "He lost power. Engine was stopped at contact." We'll have to see why the engine cut out.
It bent the bird pretty well. Bet the exposed engine cylinders caught and bent the nose down. Note ailerons both up. Something is broken there. Glad he made it out and is largely intact. Praying for the best for him.
