the rifle in question, m1903 remington 11-41. the bolt is a
b&s wwii replacement, receiver in black not the grey like the rem park pic on m1903.com with, cutoff marked R. barrel dated 11-41 but something has been done, a sleeve maybe. i can see tooling marks all the way down and at the muzzle end was bored out about 2'' in to .360 or so but the bore is still very close to .308. The bore grabes at patches and is not smooth like a worn out barrel. the one pic is the best i could get.

Rear sight band has checkered tool marks of some kind vise jaws or hammer?. and givin the barrel condition makes me think someone did something.
Front sight with hood has no markings I can see. front barrel band has no marking, stock band has a U. trigger guard has what looks to be a p on the left side maybe an r but I would say p first. butt plate marked r in side and a slight green colour. bottom plate with the mag spring has a 8 with a smaller 44 under the 8. rear sight band has a c in a square an the left and a A 0 underneath. stock is a s type with no markings. all parts look forged and milled nothing stamped.

trying to figure out how much has been done to this rifle. if stock was replaced by a civilian after war and especially what was done to the barrel. if reciever was refinished sort of thing.

thanks for everyones help.
