I'm not sure if this is hte right place to post this, but I could use some help on this decision i am trying to make.

I have been looking for a k98 to go with my WWII bayonet and p38, and i found one on gunbroker made in 1938. After several messages back and forth between me and the seller, we managed to figure out that the rifle is a Russianicon capture, since there were mismatched parts and the number that has bee placed on hte left side of the stock. the only matching numbers were the barrel and receiver.

there is no "x" on hte receiver and there is no shellac on the stock or pen marks. it even come with a front sight hood and cleaning rod and hte blueing looks extremely good as well. the man is selling it for $599 and what i want to know is if he is asking for too much or if i get it since it looks in good condition?
