    Mk III Compass

A little while ago I worked on my MkIII compass with a quick fix so you do not have top pull them right down, I am pleased to announce that after 9 days there has been no formation of air in the compass so I am pretty happy with that as I will not go into the quick fix here its on the other thread(Mk III messed up thread).
I have just done a WSF L1A1 compass with the same technique and will see where it goes as it had a massive bubble in it this I used Isoprophyl this time and not metho.

Anyway I had an Edison moment with pulling this one down as the T G & Co compass was dead easy as the filler hole was on the top, this was on the side of the body under the hinge for the top frame.
Anyway trying to refit those flippin 12BA (if that's correct) drove me nuts easy to remove but try and get them to start with gumby fingers.
So I had a flash that I would use Blu Tac to hold the screw and get it started.
What I did was to take a small piece of blu tac roll one end into a point, squish that onto the head of the screw and presto holds it nicely.
It has enough grip by careful manipulation you can get the screw started and then use the screwdriver.
Couple of pics of how I did the Blu Tac thing the screw is obviously not 12BA but shows you how it works Cheers.....
