    Glass

    Yes, an SA rebuild technique from the early 1960s after the NM guys invented their own glass bedding. Prior to that, they sometimes inletted wood fillets, but the glass was so much easier. Some early collectors thought it was a transitional step between Type 1 and Type 2 NM rifles LOL.
