    RN issue P1907 bayonet question

Afternoon all, I have been looking at a Sanderson 1910 manufactured Hook Quillon bayonet with matching scabbard, RN issued, all correct and in really good order.

As with quite a few of these bayonets, it's Enfield inspected and has its parent rifles S/N on the hilt and the scabbard.

Would it be right to surmise that these bayonets would be delivered to Enfield, inspected, marked to a rifle and both delivered to a RN Ordnance Depot together ?

If this was carried out by the RN, why did Enfield inspect them, or was Enfield solely reasonable for strength testing and X marking?
