So I just recently got a Mauser, I believe it to be a FN made in 1950 but only been able to find two of its marks. It has an E L G with a star underneath with a circle around it with a crown placed on top (definitive black powder proof mark) or from what I can find that is what it is. Then a -->>> (view mark???) a two k's with a star on top of them. Can't find out what the K means. It is serial number 06649 matching for the barrel and receiver, with a columbian military crest on the receiver. Can someone help me figure out if this thing is safe to shoot commercial 30 06 loads or not first old rifle I've bought and I'd rather be safe then sorry. I will try to post pictures in the following post but my camera is horrid so I am gonna have to try and hunt one down.Information
