This is from my Hutchinsons 22 vol set on the complete history of WWII a picture of H R H The Duke of Gloucester inspecting a No.4 cannot make out if it has just the battle sight 300-600 but it states new model so could be an early No.4. I wonder if they asked his royal highness if he would like to have a go seems the prime minister of the time always seemed to want to shoot stuff.........
I can see grooved hand guards so is there a way to date the rifle at least as when did they start doing that think it was for better heat dispersion and not grip, it appears the bolt knob is not hollowed out either TIAInformation
