So I'm getting ready to deploy and before I go I need to ensure that my rifles are properly oiled and preserved before I leave for a year... My milsurp rifles sit with the rest of my guns in a safe in my garage in Texas. I'm not too concerned about the barrels and the metal parts as I'll coat those with oil the same as I do with my AK, AR, and R700. What I am concerned about is the wood stocks and how the humidity will effect them. In the safe I have several silica products to help limit the effects. But the gauge I have inside the safe usually says there's a high humidity. What do those more experienced with wood stocks use to protect them when you know you won't touch them for an extended period of time in a humid climate?
