Still holding out for the right milsurp stock to come along.

So I recut the sporter stock with the high cheek riser. Now it is perfect for offhand and tripod shooting. Very comfortable and easy sight picture and natural point of aim.



It was this. Definately set up for a scope:



A little bit of time with the power planer and belt sander did the trick.

I am waiting for the JB Weld to set around the trigger guard screw sleeves I installed (They were missing). Then I will finish sanding and apply a few coats of boiled linseed oilicon and reinstall the butt plate and swivels.



Some day I hope to find a proper stock at the right price. Seems that good stocks and all the parts go for nearly as much as compete rifles. I will keep looking.
