Haven't posted in ages.....I searched, and apologize if this is a rehash of any earlier threads.

I was looking at (2) Underwoods earlier today, both purportedly un-restored, both with all original and correct early features. One is an S-code, one a T-code, both from the "second" Underwood serial number block. I have a B-code, all original unrestored, from the same block, so these caught my eye.

On both of them, the flip sight was installed almost flush to the right side of the dovetail slot, rather than centered. I couldn't see any indication that the flip sights were replacements of later adjustable sights, and found the installation interesting.

Was this a common procedure to correct for aiming? I expected to see the sights centered, but they were virtually identical in location.
