I recently acquired a Springfield 1903 Ser# 1215xxx. If I read the tables correctly, that would mean the receiver was manufactured in 1921. The rifle looks unmolested and does not have any re-arsenal stamps. However, the barrel is dated 1-29. Would it be possible for an inter-war year rifle to have such a large gap between receiver and barrel manufacturing dates?
