Another interesting item that I spotted in a display case at The Muckleburgh Military Collection, last week, is this Iraqi army tri-foldinding entrenching tool, captured during the first Gulf war in Kuwait. At first I thought that it was just a nato tri-folding shovel that has been used by the Iraqi army but it would appear to be of Iraqi manufacture as there is no sign of a NSN or Nato manufacturer's marking that I could see. I'm surprised that it was worth the effort for Iraq to produce their own version and not just buying in this item.
