I encountered a problem this weekend I'd never had before, with an IP carbine I recently got from CMPicon. Every few rounds the bolt would not close completely. Tried a different recoil spring, same problem. Swapped the bolt with a spare I carry in the range bag and the problem was resolved. Turned out that the extractor was defective, not properly machined apparently. A significant part of the extractor face was flat and the beveled portion was rough. Photos below show the defective extractor compared to a normal one. Both are SG, late pattern. Anyone else had this kind of problem? Is it common? I've had worn extractors but never encountered one that was defective in the first place.
