A long long break....

Well after a 2.3 year off all types of shooting anywhere or at our club we finally went back last week end for a shoot my wife went full bore and I went with my APRS .308 in optical class.
We are getting into our hotter days so our range is renowned for mirage and wind which can contradict each other by 180 degrees!

So our rifles have been in the safes stored correctly the only time they have been out was when the Police came in and wanted to check our safes security and all the serial no's.
It was at 500M all I had was a knock off Atlas bi pod and a sand filled sock as a squeeze bag laying on a grass mound, plus they put me down as the 1st shooter!
My cold bore first sighter was a well in 2 o'clock 5 the next was a just out 4 so cut them and then put the next 10 into the bulls eye with 6 X's. (50.6)
The 2nd detail was really tricky cut my sighters and worked bl**dy hard for a 50 with 3 X's (50.3) the mirage was chucking 180's as I watched through the scope.
So I topped the optical class with a 100.09/100.20 surprising even me considering.

And after such a long lay off one has to have faith in themselves, my rifle is faultless I have utmost faith in it it is a such a good build.
I mean I had all 3 mirages switching 180 with boiling thrown in with wind doing exactly the opposite whilst lying prone in the hot sun playing a lizard and outa shape after my H/A.

So a little about the rifle it was a G series Rem-700, blue printed, a Kreiger match grade 1-10/TR heavy fluted Brl, Wild dog stock bedded, basix trigger, N/F mounts. 20MOA rail.
I topped it with a NF competition 15 - 55 scope.
This was built by Ace Precision Rifle Systems and was the very last Rem they did before going to the Stiller actions
The DOPE charts I have for it was worked out by the Perth Police TRG sniper cell leader who I did a 5 day course with after we had calibrated the rifle.
The charts go from 100 - 1000Yds in 10yd increments, they also incorporate spin drift and 20 degrees C and 40 degrees C charts as we do get those really hot days.

Sorry for a bit of a long thread but I was pretty happy, though this w/end is 600 and I am taking my 6.5 x 284 with reloads I cannot remember what they were!!!!!!
