Recently bought an Inland made 5.2 Million serial M1icon Carbine. At the beginning I didn't really notice, then after some time to my surprise found out the barrel in front of the front sight is threaded! It still has the original length and retains all of its original markings, plus no sign of the front sight ever having been removed. The threading is extremely strong and nothing I would expect for precise fitting. Anyone an idea what for this threading has been done?
