Hello everyone. A while back I posted about the poor B.S.A. SMLE I'd rescued:
https://www.milsurps.com/showthread....236#post455236
I've since moved from the southeast U.S. to Magma, Arizona(cool name, right?!) and wanted to show what it's looking like now:
I found a guy online who makes lowers; he had some 'mistakes' laying around, and after hearing about "FrankEnfield" he offered to put them together and make a lower for a very good price. The other furniture was all found online singly. I was also able to purchase all the metal pieces I needed online.
I chemical-stripped(citrus-based) the furniture, then boiled it to get as much grease/grime/bodily fluids/etc out as I could. I am just about finished 'fitting' the lower to the action. Once that's done I'll smooth everything and start oiling it.
I hope my work isn't upsetting to anyone; please understand that "FrankEnfield" was in absolutely horrible shape(in a plastic Monte Carlo stock) when I bought him from a pawn-shop!
I'll post again once it's shooting. I am curious if there are any markings that I should look for that would indicate a 're-bore'? I'm assuming he's till a .303.
