Battle of Jutland May 31 to June 1, 1916

My great uncle Petty Officer Richard H. Jose (from Cornwall) died with the entire crew of 903 men on board the HMS Defence during the Battle of Jutland. the HMS Defence was hit by German shells and the magazines exploded. My great Uncle was assigned to the HMS Defence on 25 April 1915. the photo of Richard Jose is when he first joined the Royal Navy around 1908 serving on the HMS Hogue which was a training ship.
