    The guards on either side of the Germanicon prisoner are Frenchicon soldiers of General Philippe Leclerc's 2nd French Armored Division. The French wore US uniforms and when wearing helmets, they were virtually identical to the Americans. Without helmets, they wore a dark brown garrison type cap as these two are wearing. The rest are resistance fighters and civilians. Many photos of the liberation of Paris misidentified French soldiers as Americans. Here's another picture of a French soldier in a similar uniform.
