Purple tip 7,62mm cartridge is from Japan. In 1964 the Japanesedesigned and manufactured Howa Type 64 rifle,
being gas operated and selective fire with a 20rd magazine. The 7,62mm NATO cartridge used in this Type 64 had
a 10% reduction in powder charge. The Japanese found that the reduced loading of the NATO cartridge was superior
in accuracy to the US M14rifle and better in full auto. The Type 64 rifle was never exported and has since been
replaced. These purple (correct name is violet color) tip cartridges are not common to find.
