Yes...we never did that either. You are responsible for your own rifle. When I went through basic, I never developed the knack to spit shine shoes. I could however clean a rifle spotless from before my enlistment, so I'd come to find my footwear gone and five rifles piled on my bed. I still did them individually and returned them as such. Too, if there was an issue on inspection the training NCO came over to me to climb on...only right I guess. It was kind of humorous at the time too.

We have had testimony of others here that swear they were a party to such mixed cleaning groups.
