Christmas has come early, part 1 from Israel

New toys have arrived from afar.

I always wanted one but never found a nice example and this one was pretty nice.

The Bayonet No. 6 Mark I Israeli pattern. A mean-looking bayonet for the No. 1 rifle with the only markings present being stamped into the left side of the pommel. Two inspector marks in Hebrew and a rack number.

Overall it is crude to the point of making Kyber Pass bayonets look good. The wood grips, similar in style to the No.5 bayonet wrap around the tang and are well-made. The cross guard appears originally cast with finishing to remove all the hot spots however, the blade and pommel are very well finished.

When assembled it appears the blade/tang and pommel were not assembled and jig tested as she has scoliosis. This does not affect function as it fits well to a Rifle No. 1 nose cap. So was the factory approval test just that or did it get bent in service? All unknown.
