Wartime Wedding to a Canadian Soldier

I have this photo of a wartime wedding that I came across amongst a box of mainly old family photos. No-one in the photo is related to me but the caption on the back states that the bride is Evie Wells and the bridegroom, George, is a Canadian. Sadly it does not give a surname to the bridegroom, just his first name, George.

By the style of the wall of the church it is quite likely located in Essex.

I assume that the bridegroom is an officer because he appears to have the top of his battledress unbuttoned (presumably wearing a tie) and he appears to be wearing shoes, obviously without puttees/gaiters.

Hopefully he survived the war.
