recently seen a odd mauser tht was deer slayered , ,no receiver markings , looked like it had a straight bolt originally that was turned down , the receiver is ported on the left side ,checkered safety , flat butt plate ,and the weirdest thing ive ever seen was its recoil lug or sometimes called cross bolt was in the wrist of the stock , the stock appeared to be original just cut down and minus any handguard

anyone ever see the recoil lug on the wrist of the stock away from the receiver all together

the receiver port was nicely done ,and assume to vent gas in the event of a blown primer?

not my rifle so no pics , but its a perplexing piece , bubba'd way past redemption but has some odd things going on
