    Passing of C.S. "Nick" Ferris

I am deeply saddened to report the passing of a very dear friend and associate, C.S. "Nick" Ferris. Nick was the foremost authority on the Rock Island M1903 rifle and the U.S. Model 1917 Enfield Rifleicon. Nick was also a nationally-acclaimed marksman. Nick passed away on 12 September at the age of 90. He and I collaborated on those subjects and conducted joint research at the National Archives in College Park, MD. I was honored to host Nick for a visit in my home and he and Mid reciprocated and hosted me for a visit in his home. He will be missed. For those who would like to pay their respects, Nick's obituary appears at the following link.
