Jim, I was hunting feral hogs in B.C. 40 years ago. It seems some Germanimmigrants missing their annual Black Forest Boar hunts released hogs between Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs in the hope of reviving their hobby in B.C. The Fish and Wildlife Branch issued an open season on them with no bag limit in the hopes of wiping them out before they overran the area. Members of the club I belonged to and I went after them a couple of times but never got a clear shot at any of them. If we were allowed to hunt over bait I'm sure we could have bagged a few but that practice is banned in B.C. If they're popping up in the prairies, it's probably for the same reason.
