I participated in Round 2 of the CMPicon 1911A1 drawing and got one with a Remington Rand frame and a Colt slide. I asked for a pistol that had not been parkerized and got one with what I would say is original finish. I was very happy to get a 1911A1 but after having it awhile I’m kinda disappointed that it has a mixed frame /receiver. Since I was lucky enough to have been selected and it did come from CMP, would it be blasphemous for me to want to try to find a Remington Rand slide for it? The frame is serial number 1301xxx so according to Poyer, it should be a Type 3.. I would appreciate any thoughts. CHEERS!
