You have still not provided any information whatsoever about why, if the desire for an adjustable sight was so clear and urgent, it took years to get one standardized and put into use.

The desire for an adjustable sight was very clear and is reiterated in various documents. Who said it was urgent ? The only one spouting that it was an urgent requirement is you. Given your track record on why the adjustable rear sight for the carbine was developed and the initial requirement for a carbine in the first place there is a better than average probability you’re wrong on the urgency issue as well.

Just listen to yourself. The people directly involved with the design and development of the M1 Carbine are now relegated to being ordnance hacks because they signed documents. BTW, Col. Rene Studler was one of the “ordnance hacks” that was part of the sub-committee approving the adjustable rear sight. So being an “ordnance hack” we should question his passage printed in War Baby!
