I just bought a Bavarian Rural Police Inland M1icon Carbine.Only the receiver is Inland and just about all the rest of the parts are seemingly early Underwood if one goes by the dogleg hammer. It's a six digit (600K) receiver and has one of those Germanicon receiver ring mounted square notch rear sights with a filler plate in the receiver dovetail.I am looking for a replacement sight.Really odd that nearly everything is Underwood at least in my experience.I readily admit to my NOT being anything that resembles even a newbie with M1 Carbines.

Until it arrived here on my doorstep I had never even heard of, let alone seen a (German made ?) light coloured beech HIGH WOOD stock and matching handguard. Not a mark on them either with the exception of the last 4 digits of the Receiver S/N.A trifle thicker on the sides than the US made stocks and very well made indeed.

Have any of you ever seen or heard of these before ?

Anyone have any ideas as to value for the matching set ?I am torn between 'restoring' the rifle or just leaving well enough alone.I could be induced into swapping all the Underwood bits for Inland too I suppose starting with the dog leg hammer.

If anyone wants to discuss things off forum shoot me an e-mail to:

Rifle came with 712 rds of assorted .30 Carbine ammo too.400 rds of West German GECO Ball.A pristine box of LC 43 and an even pristiner box of WCC 45 with 212 rds of assorted rds including some of what I think is that Frenchicon corrosive stuff. All in all I have NO complaints(I don't think)

Cheers all,

JR
