A long time back I purchased a package of the tubes that are placed in the barrels of M-1 Rifles, for long term storage. Similar to the ones that came with an M-1 purchase from the original CMP. The tubes appeared to be made out of pressed paper material. They do not appear to have any preservative applied. Should I apply some "BreakFree" on the tubes and then insert them in the barrels. Any of you guys who work, or worked in the Depots, know what was originally used on the tubes, prior to insertion in the barrels? Thanks for the help guys.
