Since the EY topic popped up ....

I have a 1914 Sht LE Mk III, cutoff and all. It has EY (emergency use ) on the top of the receiver and knox form. Also faintly visible in yellow paint on the butt stock. The paint is well worn or 'mostly removed'.

And ... it also has an Ishapur screw.

So, the question is: Would the Indians have marked it EY or the Brits before it was off to India? Possibly found to be OK before it made it's way to the sub-continent?

It seems fine otherwise. Good bore etc. Needs a head space tightening. A little bit longer bolt head takes care of that.
