    Christmas Squirrel Hunt in Tennessee

Two days of hard but rewarding hunting in Middle Eastern TN. Gave the little critters a Christmas day gift by eliminating a big coyote at about 75yd w/ the old muzzleloading rifle that's been in the family at least 125 years. NOTHING moving in the high wind conditions the rest of the day. Saturday was apparently cold enough to keep activity to a minimum until late afternoon. Had given up and was heading down the "mountain" when I was given a nice tender young squirrel to take back as an appetitizer to the great venison grilling! Fine times!

Pictures with "trophy" tails, Deer skin just a backdrop:

Lock is a Leman, 42" barrel unmarked, ended up about 0.355" bore when I finished the freshing out job, front sight is a bit of an 184(?) silver coin.
