We received an email from a non-member the other day, thanking us for all of the great information in the MKL, provided publicly for free. They wanted to know why we started this free resource for collectors and specifically asked a question that was interesting. Essentially, since there's no chronological listing of entries, instead being published by country and category, they wanted to know what was the very first article we published.
It was on October 10th, 2006 and it was article titled Headspace 101 for .303's (click here) written by member Parashooter and it was actually something he had written some time before, for which he kindly gave us permission to re-publish on our site just 48 hours after we opened it up.
It's a great article and using graphics, it reduces the topic of head space to something very simple for new shooters and the average collector to follow along with.
For those that are interested and at the very same time, Parashooter also gave us permission to republish another article of his titled Shooting the Vetterli (Centerfire Conversions) (click here).
Thanks to Parashooter, as well as the huge number of authors who have contributed both entire articles and large amounts of other content in the form of the Collector's Comments and Feedback sections of those articles. It's quite amazing how much electronic research content has been accumulated over the last four years and we hope the MKLcontinues to be a source of enjoyment and research for collectors in the many years to come.
Regards,
