Help with I cut stock markings: HELP developing

Here's what that Rock Ola stock looked liked before I got to it....

ANy tips on how to photograph them? I know different lighting angles (oblique), etc. Is it easier to see where wet with BLO maybe. THey are nor nearly as visible as Charlie's, but I want to show them off to you guys in pictures. The condition of the stock is really good! It was a major score for my racker, which with its finish and ME of less than 1.5 was a score on its own!

RM, use indirect lighting and do not use the flash. I get the best pictures when I mess with the f-stop setting and then lighten the digital imagine with photoshop later. It also helps if you use the "micro" setting (the little flower button) if you are taking close-ups - it tells the camera to focus close up. Nutshell, the real trick is LOTS of indirect light and no flash.

Actually, they are all visible. You can see them better in real life, as I never claimed to be a photog!









I don't think it will come out any better. I am going to do one last coat of BLO, dry, and buff with felt. Now I need to decide whether to use the SG Type III recoil lug that came on it, or the Winchester Type II I have. I suppose I should see which I can sell for more. Both need adjustment to "hang" the receiver.

The top photo is a Rock-Ola stamp with what may be a rebuild stamp above that. Notice the way the cannons are on your stock. Very simple and with zero detail to them, Rock-Ola for sure.

Here's a pic of my I Cut finally wearing my Inland racker! The pay book is my dad's as are the two inert grenades he brought back. The MK I frag had been turned into a cigarette lighter (love trench art) but the mechanism was broken as was the spoon, so I later replaced the spoon for show. The Japanese Type 97 grenade was taken by my Dad from the ground by a deceased Japanese soldier. He gutted it with the intention of making a lighter out it it also (I assume). The bayonet and M1 Helmet and liner are later acquisitions.



I may only have one carbine now, but at least she is sweet and has a pretty dress (stock)!

I already have a large, black walnut shadow box with a plate glass front left from a prototype of an Air Force Vietnam commemorative AR15 series a partner and I were going to do in 1989. Only three cases and three weapons were made. The weapons were sold, but two cases were not. As I made them, I kept them. It is going to convert it to become a shadow box for the Inland, my Dad's folded flag from his funeral, and some of the other Iwo mementos.
