Just to clarify, I use Parcolubrite 2 phosphating on the brackets (what Long Branch used) and they are then painted with this: Technical Info -> Zero-Rust Canada : SMJ Products & Services for High Performance Barrier Coat

I've done this to a No4 action that was then rebarreled and the smith who did it was very impressed with how the finish survived the barreling vise and wrench undamaged.
