    L42a1 Photos

If I feel up to it, there should be some photos coming.

Includes shots of the front pad not being attached to the rifle. Its "experienced" for sure, that's one of the good things about it!

    This here's the teaser post.

    Hey, I found some

I was digging through the computer files and found some pictures of my L42. Nothing earth shattering but so many sites have lost pictures of late that I 'll put them out there again.

    Best Always,

Hokay, made it to Batcave 2. So here goes...

ETA Rifle was under repair at the time so the complete package shows up later!

Solder had lost it's bond, so the load was being absorbed by the loose screw(s) -which had allowed the solder failure in the first instance!

Note the shear damage to the lowest screw in the photo, About three-four threads below the tapered head.

Somebody seemed to know how to work the bolt in a hurry! Note the brass case impact zone just to the rear of the locking surface.

More of them than not DON'T have the loop that I've seen..There's a Survey thread that deals w/ this very subject. One of the few variations found on these rifles.

That's nice to see the later plastic case for the Scout Reg. telescope sitting half hidden in the L42 chest FlightRN. They're quite unusual and I have been told that they were never a feature of the L42. Obviously by someone who knows considerably more than me about them, their life and times!

    L42

L42 Reimported from the US (with L1A1 Scope and cover only) late last year. Now 'mated' up with original and new stock Chest, Scout Scope, new SLR Cleaning kit (correct part No), IWS Mount (Repro), pams and CES booklets (Repro), Nylon Sling etc etc.

I just need the Charlie G Lens brush and case! Then swap the Repro for Originals...

Managed to get the IWS last October. One of those moments where it was a Yes!

2nd attempt at adding photos .....

L42 now stored in Mil armoury awaiting the Spring/Summer!
